Pit Crew
Want to join the pit crew? The pit crew gets to work on the robot
during the actual competition. Depending on how the build season went,
it could mean anything from making repairs, to putting the entire robot
together from the start! You’ll get an even closer feel of the
excitement of the competition as you get a behind the scenes sort of
look. And, hey, looking for
free stuff?
You might be able to score a cool tee shirt out of the whole thing. The
pits can get pretty cramped though, so we can’t hold many! The pit crew
mostly consists of those on the mechanical group (you’ll also work on
building the robot during the build season, of course). It’s also very
important to have an electrical group member on the pit crew. We have
Candice Prince to take care of that! Kaitlin Lostroscio makes up the
mechanical part of the pit crew, but we can’t run it by ourselves! It’s
up to the pit crew to make sure the robot is running great when it gets
out to the playing field!
